Cleansing water, also known as micellar water, is used to remove make-up and dirt from the skin. It has the viscosity and looks like water but when you apply it to your skin the texture feels different.

What is cleaning water?

Cleansing water is a way to cleanse the skin. The water consists of micelles (small balls of cleansing gel) dissolved in soft water. The micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, which is why they clean the face without drying out the skin. This means that cleaning water can be used as a cleanser, make-up remover and as a moisturizer.

However, a cleansing water is not so strong that it can remove heavy foundation or tricky eye makeup such as waterproof mascara. For these moments it is best to use a separate make-up remover to completely protect your face from impurities.

Korean micellar water

Otherwise, you can apply a scrub or peeling.
